Introduction by desmond morista: Thea Riofrancos looked specifically at the increased mining that would be necessary to extract enough Lithium to continue to modernize various aspects of life in the developed and developing countries. She discussed the fact that often the minerals that the big corporations want to extract are located in areas where the populations that live there had little or nothing to do with the environmental disasters that are occurring. Overall a well balanced discussion of this complex issue.
