Introduction by dmorista: The spokespeople for the Trump Regime continue to claim, against increasing evidence, that the B-2 GBU-57 MOP Bunker Buster bomb raid on 2 nuclear production facilities in Iran and the submarine launched Tomahawk Cruise missile attack on a third, “obliterated” those facilities. This is a survival issue for the Iranian rulers, and it is much more likely that all or most of the highly enriched Uranium 235 and the equipment used to produce it was moved to safety before those bombing attacks took place. The U.S. and Israel are well known for using lulls in the fighting to resupply their forces and prepare for further operations. We well know that Trump carried out the directives from his most fanatical Zionist contributors and abrogated the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) giving the required one year notice in May of 2018 and actually withdrawing from the agreement in May 2019. The rulers of Iran decided that, since they wanted to avoid the fate of Khaddafi in Libya or that of Assad in Syria, they needed to produce significant amounts of 60% U235 and get within a few months of being able to produce some 6 - 10 nuclear weapons.
Israel is not capable of winning a relatively long, attritional war with Iran without massive support from the U.S. The overall strategic situation and some of the domestic details from the U.S. are discussed in Item 1)., “Larry Johnson: U.S. Empire ….”; and Item 2)., “Larry C. Johnson: Israel’s Defense ….”. in which Johnson points out several of the weaknesses of Israel and how they think involving the U.S. will overcome their problems. Johnson notes that the Iranians recovered from the initial surprise attack by Israel within about 14 hours, that the Iranians have sufficient missiles to keep firing them at Israel and that the main institutions of Israel were struck. Item 3)., “Prof. John Mearsheimer: ….” presents some of Mearsheimer's analysis of the relationship between the Israeli Government and the U.S. Political Establishment and the incredible power that the Israelis wield over U.S. Policies in the Middle East.
Item 4)., “Iran Disables GPS, ….”, looks at the ongoing replacement of U.S. influence with that of the Chinese. In this case the Iranians quit using the American GPS service, that is easily manipulated or blocked by the U.S. military and began using China’s Beidou system. The U.S. has used its formerly dominant socioeconomic, political, and military position to do things like seizing the financial resources of Russia, Iran, and Venezuela and has made it clear that the institutions it controls, like the World Bank and the IMF, are susceptible to American ruling class meddling.
