Mein Trumpf’s Insane Fascist, Ecocidal, and Oligarchic Shock and Awe Campaign continued to assault humanity at a head-spinning rate in its third week back in power, during which the Republi-fascist Dear Leader Donald:
· Gave the Seig-Heiling Afrikaner (see below) tech broligarch and top Trump financier Elon Musk — the world’s richest parasite — access to a US Treasury Department payments system that manages trillions of dollars of federal funds each year.
· Said the US would "take over" and "own" Gaza, fully and finally ethnically cleansing its Palestinian population to make way for the development of “the Riviera of the Middle East.” “Think of it as a big real estate site, and the United States is going to own it,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One: “There won’t be anybody there… We’ll be building through other of the very rich countries in the Middle East, they’ll be building some beautiful sites for the people…”
· Sent a group of Venezuelan immigrants to a notorious US torture site and prison in Guantanamo Bay.
· Ordered the Army Corps of Engineers to release billions of gallons of water from two California Central Valley reservoirs on the basis of his completely ridiculous claim (or claim to believe) that doing so previously would have limited the damage inflicted by Los Angeles’ recent epic wildfires. The water was poured into a dry lake-bed more than 100 miles from the fires. It cannot flow to Los Angeles and will go to waste. It was being held for Central Valley farmers who needed it for the coming summer season.
· Ordered US government agencies to remove references to climate change from their Websites.
· Ordered employees at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to stop communicating with people in other countries.
· Argued both directly and through his fascist Vice President Vance that federal judges don’t have legitimate constitutional power to block the executive branch from breaking laws and engaging in unconstitutional actions –- something that raises the specter of Trump plowing ahead in brazen defiance of established law and judicial review with the expectation of future validation from the Christian Fascist Supreme Court that he and his Republi-fascist allies in the US Senate created during his first presidency.
· Became an open champion of white Afrikaners, the European ethnic group (mainly Dutch) who colonized South Africa and imposed a brutal racist apartheid regime on its Black majority population for most of the last century. Trumpf issued an executive order that: (a) falsely claims that the Afrikaners are the true “victims of unjust racial discrimination” in South Africa; (b) falselu claims that the South African government is unjustly expropriating white Afrikaners’ private property; (c) allows rich Afrikaners to “migrate to America as refugees;” (d) halts US aid to “radical left” and “woke” South Africa.
· Ordered the closure of the federal Consumer Protection Bureau via the command of his fascist OMB director, Project 2025 architect Russell Vought.
· Revoked security clearances for political enemies including “Sleepy Joe” Biden along with Letitia James, the New York attorney general, and Alvin L. Bragg, the Manhattan district attorney, both of whom dared to prosecute him for egregious crimes.
· Placed thousands of US Agency for International Development (USAID) employees on leave, threatening to cripple the US government's main foreign aid agency.
· Ordered a 10% tariff on Chinese imports, something will significantly exacerbate inflation among other negative outcomes.
· Ordered inflationary 25% tariffs on all steel and aluminum imports.
· Tried to induce two million civilian federal civilian workers to resign.
· Imposed sanctions on International Criminal Court (ICC) staff as retribution for the ICC issuing an arrest warrant for the US-backed genocide perpetrator and good Trump buddy Bibi Netanyahu, also an epic fascist criminal.
· Ordered US withdrawal from the UNRWA, the main United Nations aid agency for Palestinian victims of US-Israel’s genocidal ethnic cleansing campaign in Gaza, and from the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC).
· Banned transgender competitors from women's sports
· Rolled out a Christian Fascist task force meant to “eradicate” mythical “anti-Christian bias in the federal government.”
· Proclaimed “Gulf of America Day,” “ceremoniously cementing his executive order last month to rename the Gulf of Mexico.”
Some of Trump’s insane orders over his first three weeks back in power are currently on hold thanks to federal court rulings. As the New York Times reports in an article titled “Why Federal Courts May Be the Last Bulwark Against Trump”:
“The legal pushback has already yielded quick — if potentially fleeting — results. Judicial orders in nine federal court cases will, for a time, partially bind the administration’s hands on its goals. Those include ending automatic citizenship for babies born to undocumented immigrants on U.S. soil; transferring transgender female inmates to male-only prisons; potentially exposing the identities of F.B.I. personnel who investigated the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol; coaxing federal workers to accept “deferred resignation” under a tight deadline; and freezing as much as $3 trillion in domestic spending. On Friday [February 7th] afternoon, Judge Carl Nichols, a district judge nominated by Mr. Trump. said he would issue a temporary restraining order halting the administrative leave of 2,200 employees at the U.S. Agency for International Development and the looming withdrawal of nearly all of the agency’s workers from overseas.”
Notice the phrase “potentially fleeting.” The Trump team is throwing up as much insane shit as it can on the wall in a short period, seeing what can stick and counting on ultimate victories at the Supreme Court level. If the high court doesn’t give them enough of what they want, look for neo-Confederate MAGA to try to hold a constitutional convention on some key matters, especially birthright citizenship, which is ensconced in the first section of the US Constitution’s Fourteenth Amendment!
Are federal courts in fact “the last bulwark against Trump”?
