Introduction by dmorista: Damon Silvers, who has worked as an attorney for the AFL-CIO, and has also worked in advisory positions with the Democratic Party of the U.S., gave a 4-part lecture series on NeoLiberalism at University College London. The first two hour-long lectures of that series, with 30+ minutes of Q & A after each lecture, are presented here. Silvers uses a variety of sources in his analysis, the work of David Gerstle is very important so I also posted a hour+ long video in which Gertle discusses his influential book The Rise and Fall of the Neoliberal Order: America and the World in the Free Market Era.

In his first lecture Silvers points out that the first attempt to impose the austerity and social control of NeoLiberalism was in Chile following the Coup there on September 11, of 1971. In the second lecture Silver discusses some ideas for getting rid of as much of the legacy of NeoLiberalism as possible. He points out that the choice is between a new left-lead democratic social order and an authoritarian right-wing regime.
