Introduction by dmorista: This video talk, from about 18 months ago by Michael Hudson, takes an interesting view of the economic and political struggles between the U.S., Germany, Japan, China, and Russia. To some extent Hudson's analysis was proven somewhat at variance with how things developed after the intensification of the Russo-Ukrainian struggle (that took place 20 days AFTER this talk). But mostly it is a well-thought out and penetrating discussion of the current global situation as it developed, particularly after WW 2, to the present situation. The U.S., changed from a powerful Industrial Capitalist socioeconomic system, to a much weaker Finance Capital socioeconomic system. This is the basis of American type Neo-Liberalism in which basic needs of life have mostly been commodified and turned into profit centers for a variety of U.S. Finance Capitalists.
