“New Cold War on China Brings New McCarthyite Attacks on Free Speech”, Rhania Khalek and Eugene Puryear host discussions with Dr. Ben Becker, Editor-in-Chief of BreakThrough News and Giorgio Cafiero, CEO of Gulf State Analytics, The Freedom Side LIVE, from Breakthrough News, at < https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=rbr9mi_4gmo >.
Introduction by dmorista: There is an increasing campaign to demonize China. The U.S. ruling class, after stupidly moving most of their industrial investments from the U.S. itself to low-wage and low-regulation locales, most prominently China; has now belatedly realized that they funded and fostered a new rival that is in the process of supplanting the U.S. ruling class from many of the powerful positions in the economic, political and cultural spheres of activity on the Earth that they have occupied for nearly 80 years now.
This current publicity effort is similar to the internal repression, propaganda and disinformation actions undertaken by the U.S. ruling class in the lead-up to the U.S. intervention in WW 1 (a military effort primarily undertaken to protect the American financiers who had lent huge sums of money to the British and the French).
Even though the U.S. / NATO Proxy War against Russia, in Ukraine, is not working out too well; the American rulers seem eager to move on and start a war with China. The fact that such an endeavor would most likely lead to a massive U.S. defeat seems to be beyond their level of understanding. Khalek and Puryear discuss the domestic buildup for War With China primarily with Ben Becker; he makes a comparison to the infamous McCarthyite repression and disinformation campaign of the 1950s. Becker also singles out the New York Times as the leading media operation that is publishing charges against peace and environmental activists. These charges claim that these peace activists and mainstream environmental organizations should be required to register as Foreign Agents under the little used Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA). Of course these proposals for a new level of repression against actual grass-roots activists ignore the fact that extremist Gulf States and Israel sponsor all kinds of organizations and think tanks in the U.S. that work to influence public policy formation and elections. They are never required to register under FARA. Becker discusses these issues with Puryear and Khalek from 39 minutes to 58 minutes.
