Introduction by dmorista:
The move by Saudi Arabia to convince the other members of OPEC to cut production and thereby push up oil prices, or at least stop the fall in the price of oil, has drawn considerable comment and criticism in various U.S. media outlets. That commentary frequently states that Biden was humiliated by Bin Salman and proposals are put forward to cut the Saudis off from more weapons sales, but the discussions rarely go into any greater depth. Clearly this situation reflects some diminution of U.S. influence over Saudi Oil policies. But the Saudis have long been loyal cooperators with the U.S. Empire in a large number of horrific wars and terror campaigns, and we might further note that the Saudis regularly behead or amputate the hands of members of their population with virtually no comment in the U.S. Corporate Controlled Media. As’ad Abukhalil and Khalek discuss this history in some detail.
