The plea for "civility" on the part of leftists, has been a continual theme for ozarkmichael for years now. He asked me to post this and I do so as a favor to a frenemy. This is an opportunity to thoroughly rebut some right wing propaganda and misrepresentations which are outright dangerous. This is a one time deal.
newestbeginning, who I consider a friend, or more accurately a loyal "frenemy", welcomed us to a CS article with this comment:
Do you think that the former (ostensibly) leftist folks buy into all of that far right wing garbage - and do they know that their "crusade", "common sense" and "critical thinking" is financed by, and serves the interests of the ruling class?
Do you think the current (ostensibly) Leftist folks here at CS buy into all that media and government/DOJ "crusade" about parents being 'terrorists' with "Dark Money" because they spoke against CRT and masks at their kid's school?
Do you think the current (ostensibly) Leftist folks buy into the Canadian government's propaganda against the truckers who are standing up against their power?
Why reprint all that propaganda against the protestors in both countries, even though that propaganda was created by and serves no one except the ruling class? It's the exact same tactics in both Canada and the USA, so now it seems that the Left is supporting the capitalist elite not merely in this country, you are supporting the worldwide capitalist elite as they reach for their highest goal, global power.
The accusations against the people, and between the fragments of the Left are going nowhere, just when the people would listen and have need of you.
newestbeginning, do you really believe that you guys alone are going to break the future global grip on the world which the capitalists desire so badly, and which you are now encouraging and justifying?
Do the Leftists here really believe that AFTER the "former Leftists"/ conservatives, religious folks (so called "fascists" and "terrorists" according to CS) are finally muzzled that you alone have some sort of chance against an established global elite? If you cant build bridges now, what makes you think you will able to do so tomorrow?
I fear for this world, and I fear for you.
If you couldn't dent the local elite so far, what chance do you have against the global elite tomorrow? If you couldnt keep up with the footmen so far, how shall you fare against the chariots tomorrow?
Today, if they call you a terrorist, millions like me would stand up for you. But tomorrow, since we are labeled "terrorist" by the government and terrorist/fascist by the Left, the victory of your accusations will result in me being silenced. The Left does nothing now except pile on because they seem to think this gets them closer to their altruistic goal.
Once the common people are broken, once they are muzzled, once all the people who support your freedom are "put in their place", you might think that your chance to speak up and do great good has come at last.
You are in for a rude awakening. The instant your opponents are broken, the instant we are muzzled... you are next. There are so few of you. People all over the world are more religious and more traditional than we are here (and less educated), so they will be caught in the net which every Leftist online is fashioning today. Who will remain to support you?
My friend, dont you know the elites already have a muzzle with your name on it, ready to employ? You will suddenly be up to your eyeballs in accusations of 'fascism and terrorism' before you know what hit you. The chains you forge today will be placed on you tomorrow. You will have no one to speak for you. Game over for a better world.
Better to speak for every trucker and parent and Christian who defies the power of government and defies the government's media propaganda machine. Better to help resist the power of the local elite instead of backing it up and globalizing it. Believe in the proletariat instead of undermining it.
Appeal to the masses, appeal to their best instincts, educate them by channeling them towards something even better.
You want to get somewhere with the masses? Now is the best time in my whole long life for the Left to actually do something, to be seen by the masses as supporting them and guiding them when no one else gives a damn. Did you know that the truckers in Canada were not supported by the conservative party for a few days? What a missed opportunity for the real Left, if there ever was such a thing.
Better to mend fences with "former (ostensibly) leftist folk", at least as much as it depends on you. Better to call them "Leftists" instead of excommunicating them. Better to let it be known that your door is open, their thoughts appreciated, and their freedom supported... even if they do not reciprocate for you. If you are better than them, be better than them. Better to risk suffering the pain of rejection than to destroy the chance you have to gather reasonable people (are there any of them there? or here? or anywhere?) together. One would think that is the whole point of being a Leftist.
newestbeginning, instead of fighting with them over who has the "one ring to rule them all", just be the best Leftist you can be. Give welcome to all who would do the same. In that scenario I would support you, while anyone who abuses your welcome would be met with my criticism.
Its time to make more of the common people instead of less. Its time to empower them instead of forging their chains. Its time for Leftists to stop fighting each other. It's time for the real Left.

Put a disclaimer on it, that you publish it 'in the interest of free speech and to encourage debate'. But just publishing it will mean that you think its important to talk about these issues. btw, these issues are hugely important, right?
If you do publish, I will respond to every person who would slander you. You can just stick with your thoughts and not go personal. Er, hmm. but I dont think I can keep the friends and exfriends from going for the throat against each other. Its easy for me to ask you to take a risk, much harder for you to do.
