Introduction by dmorista: To the extent that Donald Trump is actually engaged in governing the U.S., including its foreign policy problems, the recent “summit meeting” in Anchorage showed just how far the once overwhelming power of the U.S. has shrunk. Besides the ongoing issues such as not being capable of supplying sufficient quantities of weapons. from societies that have been deindustrialized over a period of decades to increase ruling class profits, or struggles over who is going to pay for these weapons. The President, and his closest advisors, are anxious to get the focus off of the Epstein / Trump Sex Crime scandal and to move the focus of people to the border, the DC Police State takeover and other issues that are more favorable to the right-wing and that energize the far-right supporters of the current Regime.

All this is taking place in a general milieu of increasing Asian Pacific / Chinese ascendancy and increasing isolation of the U.S. to its European Allies and its Asian Allies, all of whom have China as their largest trading partner.
